Universal Design

This is design for everyone. It is a powerful resource for making the environment in all of it's dimensions accessible. It removes the onus of "special" in special needs, and turns it into a way of structuring the world so that, to use the example of a ramp, it works equally well for a person in a wheelchair, a skateboarder, a delivery person and a person with a baby carriage.
While the argument is often made that an organization is ADA compliant the fact is that the ADA is just the starting point.
